[2024-2025] USAID AND BENILDE SDEAS’ DO ACT PROJECT COMES FULL CIRCLE

27 November 2024

On November 22, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde concluded the Deaf Out-of-School Youth Academic and Career Transitions (DO ACT) project, a transformative program that has opened new pathways for Deaf learners to access higher education and career opportunities. The culminating event, held at Hotel Benilde Maison de La Salle, marked the successful completion of this initiative, which demonstrates Benilde’s leadership in inclusive education.

The DO ACT program was launched earlier this year through the Php 2.5 million ASPIRE grant under the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID Opportunity 2.0) initiative. Designed to enhance Deaf out-of-school youth’s English language skills and support their transitions into academics and careers, the project was led by Benilde’s Center for External Linkages (CEL) and School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS).
