On October 22, 2024, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde announced a significant partnership with McDonald’s Philippinesduring an event held at the Design+Arts Campus. This collaboration aims to leverage the creative talents of Benilde students to help McDonald’s enhance its sustainability efforts.

Benilde’s School of Environment and Design houses specialized design programs, including Architecture, Industrial Design, and Interior Design. This partnership provides a valuable opportunity for SED students to apply their skills in a real-world context, supporting McDonald’s in its efforts to enhance sustainability while gaining practical experience. Fashion Design and Merchandising, and Textile Design programs are also part of Benilde SED’s offerings.

Ali Hernandez, the AVP of Corporate Relations & Impact at McDonald’s Philippines, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, “Our commitment to sustainability drives us to seek fresh ideas, and partnering with Benilde allows us to tap into the innovative minds of young designers. This initiative is about transforming our restaurants and inspiring the next generation to think critically about the environment.“
