The Teacher Education Program successfully hosted a masterclass titled “The Art of Literary Analysis: Insights and Techniques” on October 5, 2023, at Benilde Hall, De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde, Antipolo. The session featured Ms. Franchesca Borras-Manalo, an experienced educator and specialist in literary studies.
During a 60-minute lecture, Ms. Borras-Manalo explored core techniques in literary analysis, such as close reading, thematic interpretation, and the application of various critical perspectives. Her clear and practical explanations aimed to strengthen the analytical abilities of Teacher Education students majoring in English. The session concluded with an open Q&A, allowing participants to deepen their understanding and relate the concepts to real-world classroom and academic scenarios. This activity is part of the department’s ongoing commitment to enhancing students’ competencies in literary interpretation and preparing future English educators for effective and meaningful teaching.
