Fifteen Benilde Deaf associates, comprising five CEAD staff and two Benilde Deaf School teachers, have been accepted into the Master of Learning and Teaching (MALT) progam at DLSU. This program is designed for teachers who would like to develop a deeper and more principled understanding of the learning and teaching processes.
The studies of CEAD and BDS teachers are supported by the St. Mutien Marie Scholarship and the MLITEDCE grant—an initiative of Benilde-CEAD funded by The Nippon Foundation. This aligns with CEAD’s goal of developing Deaf educators who will lead in advancing Deaf academic success through Deaf-centered bilingual education.
Being part of the Lasallian mission is a profound path of service. For these Deaf teachers, pursuing higher studies is not only an academic advancement—it is a foundation for building a more accessible and inclusive education system for the Filipino Deaf community.
