[2024-2025] Sherlo Reyes Champions Inclusive Excellence at Philippine Rice Research Institute

In a continued effort to promote equity and belonging in professional spaces, Sherlo Reyes delivered an insightful talk on “Designing an Inclusive Workplace” to the associates of the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) on July 29, 2025.

The session traced the evolution of diversity and inclusion (D&I) practices in the workplace, highlighting how organizations can move beyond compliance toward genuine cultural transformation. Reyes emphasized strategic and sustainable approaches to embedding inclusion into institutional systems—spanning recruitment, leadership, policy development, and everyday interactions.

A central feature of the discussion was De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde’s own journey toward inclusivity. Reyes showcased Benilde’s best practices in accessibility, Deaf inclusion, and community empowerment, positioning the College as a national model for inclusive education and workforce design.

The talk encouraged PhilRice associates to reflect on their organizational culture and take actionable steps in building an environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.

Through initiatives like this, Benilde continues to extend its mission of inclusive excellence beyond the campus, inspiring institutions across the Philippines to champion diversity and human dignity in every sphere of work.
