De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) continues to champion inclusive employment and industry collaboration through a meeting with representatives from Hilton held on June 25, 2024. The session brought together the Center for External Linkages (CEL) and the School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS) to explore potential partnerships that align with both institutions’ commitment to diversity and empowerment.
During the meeting, Hilton expressed strong interest in welcoming Deaf interns and talents into its workforce, reinforcing the company’s advocacy for inclusion and accessibility in the hospitality industry. Benilde, on its part, sought to expand the partnership beyond internships by exploring additional avenues such as resource exchange, facilities tours, and event speakerships, fostering deeper collaboration and mutual learning.
Recognizing the broader potential of this initiative, CEL proposed the creation of an institutional Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that would enable not only SDEAS but also other Benilde schools to develop joint projects and activities with Hilton. This institutional partnership aims to create more opportunities for student engagement, professional development, and community impact across Benilde’s diverse programs.
Both parties agreed to review the draft MOU, with plans to begin onboarding Deaf alumni interns by September 2024, following the formal signing of the agreement.
This forthcoming collaboration marks a significant step toward inclusive industry partnerships that provide equal opportunities for all. Through initiatives like this, Benilde continues to live out its Lasallian values—creating pathways where education, compassion, and industry converge to build a more inclusive and empowered society.
